When it comes to home or office remodeling, many are aware that it can be bother an exciting and daunting experience requiring a multitude of decision. Some decisions are as simple as choosing an easily replaceable paint color, but once entering the realm of more permanent areas like flooring choices, options need to be weighed carefully. The top two choices in flooring are usually carpet or hardwood. Here are a few reasons why hardwood flooring may be the right choice for you.
Hardwood flooring certainly takes the cake on ease of cleaning. No matter who or what resides within your home, messes are sure to be made from everyday spills and pet stains to heavy duty dirt and soiling. When these messes occur on a carpet, costly carpet shampooers and products are required to bring back the carpet’s luster. Homes With Amazing Views
Where would we be without windows? Without a view for a start and this made me wonder about the homes across the world that have amazing views.
I decided to put together a collection of amazing homes with views to die for. All of these views would be totally lost and unseen without the simple glass window.
Glass portals are designed to give us light, a view and can be a spectacle in their own right. Using different shapes, colours and materials they create drama and personality into a room. The most impressive windows are best enjoyed without blinds, shutters or curtains allowing you to appreciate the whole window and of course the view.
The first thing I do when I go on holiday is head straight to the balcony/window to check out the view, let’s be honest no one wants to look out and see a brick wall!
Enjoying the view from a hotel or building doesn’t require staying in the pent house or being on the top floor, but it does require a window!
Check out these amazing homes with views to die for.
Glass is one of the most notoriously fragile materials and you wouldn’t use it for certain applications. So the idea of having a glass snowboard commissioned may sound like a crazy idea, but these guys did just that.
Dave Lee founder of Signal Snow Boards travels to Breshia Italy home to some of the best glass makers in the world to create the first handmade glass snow board.
The process took 5 days and here’s what happened…..
Using a single square piece of glass they cut it into the same shape and size as their “Park Series” snow board.
Glass technician Andrea explains that by using water in the cutting process the water keeps the glass cool so it doesn’t shatter, two glass snowboards were cut and then they were baked in an oven for 24 hours.
The oven temperature was 580 degrees celsius which heated the flat pieces of glass and melted them over the snowboard template which had been specially made for this challenge; this gave the board a tip and tail just like a real snow board.Next came a very tricky part, adding the inserts for the binding mounting. After careful consideration and guidance from our sales representative it was decided that our steel sectional garage doors finished in golden oak from the wood grain linear range would be the perfect solution for Mr Egglestone.
The advantages of this type of garage door compared to the traditional up and over garage door, is the extra drive through space and also the greater head room for larger vehicles like 4 by 4 and people carriers.
The sectional door as its name suggests is made up of sections rather than one large single panel which is ideal for smooth opening operation with either manually or with electric automation. Mr and Mrs Egglestone decided they would opt for manual operation on both the garage doors.
More about the whole sectional garage door range:
The sectional garage doors are available in 3 different styles.

Planning permission for a conservatory
Under the regulations that came into effect on the 1st October 2008 conservatories are considered to be a permitted development and as a rule will not require planning permission. However there are some restrictions to bear in mind for example, you cannot cover half your land around the original house with a conservatory or build it higher than your existing roof.
If the house has already had an extension added by previous owners this needs to be taken into consideration. Also sheds and other out buildings need to be included when calculating the use of 50% of the land. Our sales representatives work with the local planning departments and will be able to help you through this process.
Listed buildings will properly need consent for a conservatory to be added to the property, just as it would need consent to carry out any other home improvements.
Follow this really useful link to the planning portal where there is a very simple mini guide in visuals to help you understand what you can and can’t do when thinking of adding a conservatory to your home. Our sales team will be able
